Day 19: Empire State Building + Twilight Cruise

Took a ride to the 102nd floor of the Empire State Building.  Manhattan Island takes on a whole new perspective from 1250 feet up.  Booked a seat on the twilight cruise down the Hudson River and around to the United Nations building. Got some great shots of the statue of Liberty and the Manhattan / New Jersey skyline. Amazing experience. Dinner at Planet Hollywood in Times Square.

Day 18: Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

Intrepid is an aircraft carrier that’s been turned into a museum on the Hudson River. Wow…. The ‘Air’ section included quite a few planes Blake and I hadn’t seen before. Harrier, Tom Cat (Top Gun), Concorde, Blackbird (stealth that can travel at over mach 2, F/11A (Blue Angels). The ‘Space’ section had the space shuttle Enterprise (amazing) and the ‘Sea’ section had a Growler Submarine. Highlight was definitely the aircraft simulator that Blake and I flew in. What a ride that was…..

Day 17: Woodberry Outlets

Day trip to the Woodberry Common Premium Outlet. About 60 minutes from New York. Took the Lincoln Tunnel (under the Hudson River) and headed out through New Jersey. Couldn’t believe how quickly the scenery changed from skyscraper to country just 10 minutes out of Manhattan.
Blake now loves outlet shopping

Day 16: Memorial 9/11 & Brooklyn Bridge Walk

Day 3 of our three day hop-on-hop-off bus ticket. Visited the 9/11 memorial in Downtown. Still hard to believe that Treen and I were actually in the Twin Towers 22 years ago. The new Freedom Tower looks amazing.  Spent the afternoon walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. Took just over an hour but well worth it for the awesome views of Manhattan Island. Another night tour of to see the Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn Heights
