Day 30: New York Jets v’s Pittsburg Steelers

While the girls spent the day soaking up the shops in Fifth Avenue, the boys caught a bus to the Metlife stadium (New Jersey) to watch the New York Jets play the Pittsburg Steelers (with 80,000 other fans). Whilst the home team went down 19-6, the atmosphere and the 1 foot long hotdogs were amazing.

Day 29

Took our longest subway trip so far from 42nd Street to Battery Park. Got some photos of the New York Stock exchange before heading off Pier 17, which has not opened since hurricane Sandy. The weather was much warmer today so decided to take a leisurely walk along the Greenway pathway with views of Brooklyn Heights, Staten Island Ferry Terminal, Battery Park and the very busy Wall Street Heliport (counted 8 helicopters on the pad at one time). Spent the afternoon eating ice cream in Bryant park and then back to watch the Dodgers play game 2 of the series.

Day 24: Rockefeller (by day & night) + MOMA + Breakfast at Tiffanies

After weeks of sunshine, a cold snap arrived in NY today. After the girls took their bagels/tea and went to Tiffanies for breakfast we headed up the Rockefeller for our day tour of the Manhattan skyline. Lined up in the rain for tickets to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). Six floors including Monet, Picasso, Van Gough. Visited Niketown (awesome) then a quick coffee at Starbucks in Trump Tower before heading back up the Rockefeller for our night time tour.

Spent the morning on the red steps in Time Square before heading off to see the broadway show "Chicago".

Day 21: Central Park and the Natural History Museum

Hired bikes and cycled all the way around Central Park. Took about 90 minutes. Sitting in the middle of this massive park (about 50 streets long) it’s hard to believe we’re still in New York. Spent afternoon at the Museum of Natural History (location for Ben Stiller’s movie… Night at the museum)
